Day 8 – Today has me really excited to start playing with some long trail rides with this horse. He is so stable and confident, regardless of footing, surroundings or weather.
This was our first ride in the rain. It only sprinkled, which was the perfect introduction, but the wind was pretty strong which would have been interesting on any other horse.

We also rode in polo wraps for the first time, and I was slightly disappointed that he didn’t do the fun “what’s on my feet” dance.

Lucero picked up correct lead every time today, and he is actually starting to hold a bend to the inside. I am still doing the turn on the forehand method that I talked about yesterday, and I am a huge fan so far. His transitions are just getting better and better!

Thanks for following along!

**Hebrews 12: 5-6
“And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
